Show Notes:
We talk about how Mike went from selling parts for earth-moving machinery to selling companies on the promise of social media via his consultancy firm Cerebra, the state of social media in SA (broadband penetration is very low, and this is a big barrier), how innovative SA firms are coming up with social media solutions that use widely adopted platforms, i.e. the MXit SMS service, we also discuss social media darling Stormhoek Winery, the 3rd annual South African Blog Awards (being held this Friday), and whether the “Balkanization” of the web is necessarily a bad thing, because in SA “local is lekker“.
