Show Notes:
Tom tells us about his diverse background and work providing “adult supervision” to startups, as well as his passion for social computing/social media. Then we get into a discussion about the perception that social media tools and platforms are little more than time-wasters. Just for fun, I play devil’s advocate. Tom reminds us that one of the most powerful social tools ever invented – the telephone – can hardly be considered a time waster in the workplace. Shortly afterwards, his own phone rings and he throws it into the other room. In closing, Tom provides us with his thesis on the importance of social media and tells us a bit more about his poetry (he’s written 12 books and is featured in several anthologies).
